Civil engineering is an engineering discipline that is responsible for infrastructure development of a city, town or village. Roads, bridges, canals, dams, seaports, airports, residential buildings, etc are all creations of civil engineers. Civil engineering may be not as glamorous as some other engineering disciplines but it is certainly an important field. Some of the civil engineering marvels of the world include Hoover Dam, Eiffel Tower, Golden Gate Bridge and many others. Civil engineering enables roads to be built through high mountain ranges and bridges to be constructed on turbulent rivers. Water supply of a city or town and sewage system are all planned and constructed by civil engineers.
